How do i add a friend adding system like facebook or twitter to my site asp.net c#

I would like to add a feature to my site where users can log in and add friends and view their profiles and make them appear in their recent updates via a repeat controller

any insight on how I can go about this ,I couldn't find a proper n:m table examples that where detailed enough.

examples or tutorials help please
