i have done it using calendar control but i want it by ddlist.

That would be an awfully long list.

Oh, you mean a dropdown for day, month and year...

This should set you off: CascadingDropDown[^].

Note: hmm; spoke to quickly: would really only work if you displayed as Month, Day, Year or Year, Month, Day so that you select a month and the next dropdown would hold the correct number of days.
