User Control in a modal popup which is in another user control

Hi All,

I am suffering with a problem. I have a page which registers a user control UserControl1. In this user control I have registered another user control UserControl2 which i want to show ina modal pop up on a click of button that is placed in UserControl1. When I keep my panel empty which is the pop up control ID of modalPopUp, It works perfectly but when I place my UserControl2 in panel and try to invoke the modal pop , nothing is coming.
I am not sure what I am missing.

Please Help
