oracle database not getting linked to the application

I have a C# web application which is used to host exams. it uses oracle 10g as back-end database. Dump of the exam database from some other system has been imported successfully in the database. i can view the data through cmd prompt into the database.

But when i open the application in visual studio and after building the website again when i try to run the application all pages get open when i am running them individually, they are not getting linked to the database i.e. database is not getting connected to the web application.
