ComboBox with nested ProgressBar

Hi all

I am a newbie to WPF\C#, so be gentle with me...

I have an app (C#, WPF) where I select a wav file from a ComboBox, and then click a button (Play) to start playback. I also have a ProgressBar which indicated the progress of playback.

What I would like to do is place the ProgressBar 'in' the ComboBox (nested?) so that when the playback starts, the ProgressBar is visible behind the Combobox (which is still visible).

When the end of the wav file is reached, the ProgressBar will disappear.

I hope this is clear - any clues or pointer to a tutorial would be great!

Play with the ProgressBar control's visibility properties.

The way to do this would be to retemplate the ComboBox to display the ProgressBar. To get you started, here's some styling:

while I think this (editing of control template) is the way to solve OP's problem, I fear he may not now how to "edit a copy of the existing one" - let's see what he says...

I'm not johannesnestler. As far as editing a copy of an existing one, you don't have to - I've taken care of this for you already. All you need do is put your ComboBox on the view and this template will automatically be applied (complete with the nested ProgressBar). All you need to do is hook up the ProgressBar values and, optionally, its Visibility.

I took your xaml, and pasted it in to "MainWindow.xaml", but I come up with loads of error - 5 of
"Microsoft_Windows_Themes:SystemDropShadowChrome' was not found. Verify that you are not missing an assembly reference and that all referenced assemblies have been built."
how do I resolve this?
