I am wondering what is the role of NFS (Network File System) protocol in Windows. Is there any equivlent protocol by Windows? As per my understanding NFS is open source protocol developed by Sun.
Interestingly enought as i am not in *NIX world but in windows, so how can i use NFS? Will be appreciated if someone provide reference/link to practlcle implementation of NFS in windows.

Thanks

When one share remote machine drive/folder to local one then Windows uses interanlly the NFS(network File system) that make the acess to remote files system fast.

Not sure how one can get the custom applicaiton in Windows for this. Google give me no good result :( looks i need someones help in this.
One link i got from microsoft, if it helps a bit that for NFS, may be one need to include nfsnp.dll.
