Limit The UL List To 20

I Want to Limit The List values In Ul , Like after 10 items , new list will be created

like this

a    b
b    b
c    b
d    b

first column will dispaly only 4 list items and when it goes to 5 , new column created

how to achieve this ?

i tried this in table and achieved ! but dont know how to acheive this in List

i removed the code , and acheive it with table .. actually i am blank how to achieve this in list , i dont have any idea ..
