How to avoid displaying panel data when page is showing alert box which is used as ballon pop up content ?

I am using ballon popup control on asp.net web form and pop content is coming from panel.
its working fine.but when ever aler box was shown on the page pop up content was displaying as normal text. but i want to avoid this. pleas can any body help in this regard

try to use update panels for modal pop up....

i am using panel id as popcontrol id .but problem comes when alert or confirmation box displayed all the content in panel which was used as popup content is displaying and disppering when alert box or confirm box disappers
