Not performing change event of ddl while using FreeTextBox

I am having a ddl which shows the drafts saved in database. I have to fetch subject and draft content(HTML format) from table and show them in textbox and freetextbox respectively.

Now the problem is that if I put freetextbox in updatepanel than it does not allow change event of ddl to fire. It does fire for the first time but after that it does not fire. And if I dont use updatepanel for freetextbox than it does not display draft content in it. I have used updatepanel for ddl..

Please help..
