Okay.... and? What would the problem be?

The problem is fundamental and unsolvable. Please see Solution 1 where I explain it.

thanks a lot for explaining the difference between the two, now i understood it. Im a beginner with basic coding skills in c ,c++ and java.my task is to present a OCR (a very simple one) as my project.so what do i do?im unable to understand how to develop it?

You are welcome. For a beginner, I would advise much simpler projects. OCR in particular and image recognition is general are notoriously difficult problems.

Again i thank you for the reply.i know this might be too much to ask for, but can u suggest me few projects that could be easily done in like a day or so.im already late for the submission, so ya please help if u can.

This is not a question. More importantly, it's theoretically impossible to satisfy you. I'll explain.

This is because "I want to develop OCR using Java" and "I want source code for a OCR written in Java" are absolutely incompatible. If you want to develop OCR, you don't need any code, you should just do the development. If you receive some source code for the OCR written in Java (we don't deliver any serious code, but imagine that for a second) and use it, it will completely destroy your chance of developing the OCR, because, no matter what you do next, the OCR code won't be developed by you.

Good luck,
