Icon for a saved file?

How do I put an icon on my saved files, so I can recognize what type of a file is it? E.g. Like a MS Word file would have a little "W" then one can immediately tell its a MS Word file or MP3 would have a little note.

You set the IconPath when you setup your file association.

Solution 1

You do this by adding the appropriate registry entry for your file extension in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT as shown in the answer on this[^] page.
