Hi,

I know that when SQL server is restarted new log files are created. But is it possible to resist creating new log fils and insert log data in the existing log files that are used before restarting the sql server

As far as I know, the error log file is always changed when starting the database engine.

If you need to search from all the existing error log files you can do this with SSMS. Also you can change the maximum number of archived log files via log file configuration. If I recall correctly the maximum amount of archive files is 99.
