C Sharp or JAVA ?

Hi guys,

I want to learn programming but i am confused which language c# with ASP.NET or JAVA,
there are some people say JAVA and others say c#,

I want language to make web applications and desktop applications,

Can you help me to talk this critical decision for me please

One of the things you'll see on older posts if cross-platform compatibility issues with .Net... Don't forget MS has recently announced it's releasing the code for it and intends on making it run natively on Linux (not surge if merging with Mono or converting all of their code).

You can do either. It's up to you. Do some research, look at some samples, and then go for it.

If you do C# you'll be in the Microsoft world of things and there are tons of resources online to help you out.

I'm not sure that Java has nearly the same amount of resources to help you but is still a valid language to learn.
