File download in IE 11 is not working in .docx/doc format

Hi All,
I am trying to download a file from database in bytes format and convert into a MS doc file. It works fine in IE8 but not in IE 11. The file downloads properly but while opening it from the dialog box option 'open' it gives error message "word experienced an error trying to open that file Try these options: 1. Check the file permissions for the diocument or drive. 2. Check insufficient space or memory etc." But when I open it by clicking "open and save" then it opens properly. Thanks in advance.

Solution 1

When you download a file from the internet it is blocked initially...
Open the properties window of the file and look at the bottom, you should see there something like this:

This file came form another computer...

, and an 'Unblock' button next to it...
Unblock the file for normal usage...

I found the problem. The problem was in the particular machine. I was due to some authorization problem. When I tried it in different machine it worked fine. Thanks a lot Peter for your valuable time.
