Issue in validating dropdownlist in gridview

hi fellows,
In my Gridview I have c0lumn of dropdownlists. I have applied required field validator on the dropdownlist. But the problem is if i don't select any item in two or mroe dropdowns. It shows same number of validation errors. While I want that it should show single vlidation message errespective of how many dropdownlists are selected.
