using vb.net to acess postgis

hi i need to extract shapefiles stored in a postgis database using a visual basic .net application ,i have seen an example of the code on this website that was written in c# i have failed to convert it into vb if anyone is good at c# please help me covert the code. im not good at using c#

any help will be greatly appriciated
