Thanks! I had found those networks pretty intriguing too since they represented somewhat of a breakthrough in many fields of pattern recognition and machine learning. Those are the same networks powering Apple's Siri.
Fascinating video: I think a voice-over track would be a good idea.
Look forward to seeing your article.
Happy New Year, Bill
"We live in a world ruled by fictions: mass merchandising, advertising, politics as advertising, instant translation of science, technology, into popular imagery, increasing blur of identity in realms of consumer goods, preempting any free, original, imaginative, response to experience by the television screen. We live in an enormous novel. For a writer it's less necessary to invent a novel's fictional content: fiction's already there. A writer's task is to invent a reality." J. G. Ballard, 1974
For Christmas I got a new case for my desktop, but I have a small problem: the front ports are all USB 3.0 (despite the listed specs of 2x USB 2.0 and 1x USB 3.0), but my motherboard doesn't support it. Not a big deal, because there are PCI cards that support USB 3.0...except I can't find one with 2 internal 19-pin headers (which I need to use all three ports). I've checked all my usual places, and if they're out there they aren't easy to find.
I could of course get 2 PCI cards (I have the space now, and they aren't that expensive), or only attach two of the ports, but ideally I would like to be able to do all three with just one card. Or the really weird set up of one header to a card, and the second converted to a USB plug and run out the tubing holes in back and plugged into an external port of the card. So if anyone happens to know of a PCI card fitting that description, I'd love to know where I can get one...
I haven't been to CP for a long time and when I finally got here, the only place I visit is The Lounge. What the hell is wrong about this forum? BTW it is fun to observe how CP subtitle changes over time... When I was registering it was homely "Your Visual Studio and .NET Homepage", at some point of time it changed to a serious "Programming Resource", and now it is a social "CodeBook For those who code". I think it accurately describes the evolution of CP Merry Christmas!
I've been a Dr Who fan since the 1980's. One thing I've noticed with the 'new' Drs has been a lot more tendency to depend upon action and special effects instead of story line. I still watch, but my wife will only watch episodes from the first six doctors.
Where are concepts like Logopolis and Castrovalva ? Rose was very good - closest thing we've had to Lela in a long time.
I've not seen the latest, so without commenting on it, is anyone else somewhat disappointed?
