Need help about password idea...

hi everyone

I use different passwords for everything for security reasons.
One problem is that i often forget one or two of them.
Therefore, i am developing a password cracker to run on eg. facebook.com if i forget the password.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTE: Rest assured, i am not interested in hacking people's passwords:this is just for myself only.

This is the layout:

Password to crack: |facebook.com|

Username: |rixterz123|

Password length: |7 |

It would take too long to use Sendkeys to send "aaaaaaa" to "zzzzzzz" to a Webbrowser Control, so is it possible to ping the Facebook.com server to get an instant response of True of False as to whether the password has been accepted or not?

I doubt you will get any help with this question. Typically questions like this are reported and the member posting it is banned from the site.
If you really have a problem remembering your passwords, you should look into using something like KeePass Password Safe[^] to store your passwords.

Nope. You're not going to get away with doing this. At a MINIMUM, you'll violate the terms of service for Facebook and then you won't have an account to get back into.

At the worst, you'll be arrested for computer crimes. "Hacking" a password is illegal, even if it's your own account.

Do what everybody else does. Use the "password reset" feature of the site.

It's not your password. You're hacking someones elses SYSTEMS to crack a password. Yes, it's illegal and YES you CAN be arrested for it, at least in the U.S. Just read the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and the Digital Millineum Copyright Act for what the possible outcomes are. All Facebook, or any other company, has to do is press charges for unauthorized use of THEIR systems.

Don't believe me?? Just step up and try it yourself.

Either way, you're not getting help with this. Besides, why does your profile say you ARE in the US?? It doesn't matter really...

If it's YOUR account, then yes you CAN use the password reset features of the sites.
