I wrote an article on how to use authorize, because, while it's so trivial that if you can't work it out from the docs, you shouldn't be coding, it is a PITA to write, so I made my code available. If you can't read the docs, or use google, or search this site, you should NOT be writing code that needs to be secure with people's credit card numbers.

I'm assuming there has to be some property that needs to be set in order to display lets say to panels or divs right next to each other as oppose to vertically down.
I'm using a style sheet but I can also do it in the page itself. If someone knows can you please tell me how to set this up in both of these cases! I'd appreciate it

Use the float CSS property, i.e. float:left and float:right

Hello Mark,
I tried floats but it didn't quite work...what would I do inline. Also how do I move the entire panel away frmo the left margin of the page. I'm assuming the margin property should work, but apparently its not. Can you please perhaps give an example? I'd really appreciate it!

Alternatively you could put the panels inside a table. (Don't shoot me, I know about the drawbacks of using tables, but sometimes it's just easier IMHO)

Setting the viewstate on one control does not affect another. However, if you set it at the page level it will affect all controls on teh page.

Hi There,
I have HTML Button. On Click of that button I want to save values from page into database. If anybody knows please help.
Thanks.

you can call __doPostBack function,
it works like an asp.net button.
Glad to discuss with you and best wishes.

Traditionally, you would wrap the button inside a form, and the button would actually be of type submit.
Then, the form values get POSTed to your server from which you can parse via the Request.Form object, and from there, simply insert into DB.

There are various way to implement it. Either you can pass it as query string or you can store it in session variable.

Buy a book on ASP.NET, and read it. Try reading the forum rules, too.

hi,
i am developing an ASP.NET video sharing site.
i want to make video files DRM protected so anyone can watch the downloaded videos only when logged into the website. videos can be watched online or saved and distributed by dvds, but the only way to watch should be the site authentication.
how can i do this?

Hi,
most barcode readers work by using keyboard emulation. If you press the button on your barcode scanner, the scanner will read the bar code and simulates a user input using the keyboard. You could place a texbox on your page, setting the focus on this texbox. Then the user uses the barcode scanner. This will put the barcode into the textbox. If the user presses a button, the input will be submitted to the application and you can handle it. (Or send the form automatically 2 seconds after the first input (done with js), this will avoid that the user has to press a button).
Does this help you?

Sebastian

Dear all
I am developing a website for a client in ASP.NET, Client wants to protect his webpages from copied. He asked me the following
1) Stop right click
2) Stop Context menu
3) Stop user saving and viewing source using "Save Page As" and "Page Source" in firefox. "Save As" and "view source" in internet explorer.
4) Stop taking print screen and saving it as image
In this i have accomplised the tasks 1 & 2 using javascript. is there any way to do the 3 & 4 tasks. If not possible please drop me the exact reason so i can make the client understand.
Thanks in advance
Regards

I doubt 3 and 4 can be accomplished -- at least not in every browser.
And there is no way to completely protect the XHTML/CSS/JavaScript source (your serverside code is safe though, unless the server itself is compromised).
If someone has the will and know-how to get it, they will.
