Oh yes!
The stick cost £20 (on special, down from £30) and Prime is around £80 per year. But ... that includes unlimited free next day delivery on most things, and their music service, ebooks, etc.
There is normally a free 30 day trial, which gives you a good idea what is available.

Note: what you get may be different in your country - I think for example that the USA gets 2 day delivery rather than 1 day, for example.

It usually comes down to the lazy people in the distribution chain that can't be asked to do anything in an ordinate amount of time. There's a distribution center about a 7 hour drive from my house, so I could pick things up myself in under 24 hours if they'd let me. Still takes two days.
And don't even get me started on the postal service... Takes a week to get a piece of first class mail from one coast to the other...

Or hook the PC to the TV. I looked at the music, they wanted my credit card details so I didnt go any further.
The rest of the content is a bit iffy. Lots of old films, lots of pay to view films, and none of it available in France, so I need a UK IP address (VPN), so its not as good a service as I expected.

No idea, but they do use their word for cat (neko, 猫, ねこ, ネコ, however you want to spell it) for "bottom" (in the urban dictionary sense of the word).
