Help to create a website?

Hi there...
I'm a beginner in asp.net.So I wanna create a website for improving my knowledge...Can anyone help me to do that?As the security settings in web application is very important, I need that type of website rather than a static one....Please do help me....U can just give me the guideline about what are the needs,pros and cons regarding a website,how to solve those issues,which controls would be better,authentication etc remaining I will do...

I agree, maybe do some downloading trials, depends what you want to do with your website if you wanna deal with credit cards, you need to make sure its incredibly secure, if you just want dynamic content, not so secure, as smithers said, be more specific, It's like saying I want to build a car, what do you want it for? Who's gonna drive it? etc.
