I linked to a new upload: The Lounge[^] linked to image[^] but it's giving intermittent 404's. Was working, then Brisingr Aerowing complained and I got 404ed, then it works again ... possibly related to the recent DB fun you've been having, but I thought I'd report it anyway.

Is it still happening?
Uploads are separate from any database issues. Generally what happens is one of the servers in the cluster decides not to store an upload, and within an hour or two our synch systems have brought things back in line.

Looks good at the moment.
I'll try to remember that, and not post links for an hour or so after I upload it.

Can you check the headers and see if they are the same email or separately generated emails?

As per title. The Lounge, The Insider News, and several others are partially or completely broken in various ways.

Seriously weird - and seriously interrupting my distribution-of-sugary-treats-to-the-neighbourhood-kids time.
We use a third party NuGet component and, out of nowhere, it decided to go a little crazy. I've done a quick fix, and as soon as I've merged all our latest changes from today, I'll do a permanent solution.

What's the component called? Just curious.

HtmlSanitiser.
But don't tell the guy I told you. It's actually an awesome component. It just forgot to place witch marks around it's house today or something.

Looks like it. I made a note of it as I may have a use for it in the future.

I've found that the default status for any article I edit is "Published". While I'm certain that this has to do with either my protector status or rep points I find it disturbing - Even though I can be considered a good author having an average article rating of 4.9/5 I'd like to have my articles reviewed by other members of the community, especially for missing images and other bits I potentially could've missed. In general I think it is wrong to exclude certain members (apart from admins and staff) to be able to circumvent the moderation process.

You're in the minority, and we love you for that.
Many high rep, well-trusted members simply don't need (and frankly, don't want) the hassle of having to go through moderation. They would argue counter to your point
What if we made it so you could specifically send your articles to the moderation queue before they are posted? Best of both worlds?
cheers

I get that - Given the echo to my articles I wouldn't need it either. But since I don't feel about it as a hassle but as an instrument to improve the quality of my writings and therefore want it. It's a matter of personal preferences I guess.

I already can do that - By setting the "Pending" status before publishing. The problem is that I sometimes forget to set it.
Having a second button for this specific purpose would be nice, something along

Hmmm.
I'm loathe to do that because it complicates the UI for a small edge case. I understand your reasoning but can't justify it at this point.

Giving each user the ability to change the behavior in their settings?
I understand it's an edge case - If there's no quick and easy solution leave it the way it is.

The OP seemed to have posted comment on this answer[^]. However the comment isn't shown in the notification list on the left side of acccount name (the little red box) and no email was received about the comment. I also checked the junk mail.
I noticed this by accident so don't know if there are more.
[ADDED]
Also posting this message isn't shown on the rep list.

Try now. I spent the weekend getting this stuff sorted out. It wasn't a matter of a code change, more of something in SQL crossing a threshold and deciding that last week was the week it had had enough.
I can't promise that at this stage I've covered all bases, so please let me know if you're still seeing weirdness.
cheers
