Oh no. That was me. I put the wrong dates, hit submit, then stopped. Then I changed the dates and hit submit again.
I wasn't fast enough. I've made a temporary fix. But I will submit to the lash, and then ask for a real fix.
Thanks for the catch.

He doesn't have to be forced into his Mankini - he wore it for Casual Friday (and that got cancelled forthwith).

Seems to affect every QA page. I've tried in another browser, and I get the same error.

That was a bit hair raising. Still working backwards to find the root cause but it was some bad data that resulted in a null-ref that had escaped all our testing.

Fun.

When an account is disabled for spamming, any messages they may have posted (especially those that have links) should be automatically removed as well.
|
|
|

That's a difficult one: Yes, it would help "tidy up" the site, but ... we have had malicious "spammer" or "troll" reports which have closed accounts (this happened mostly in the early days after downvoting was prevented in the Lounge). And while it's good for actual spammers to lose all messages, I'd be quite annoyed if my account was restored and everything I'd typed in the last ten and a half years was gone ... I suspect you would as well.
Maybe remove all messages if the account was opened in a specific timeframe? ... But that means adding special cases and I don't like those if I can avoid them.

one of my roommate account is closed, saying that "Content has been posted that is abusive and trolling", he himself not aware of that when this happened and without any warning etc account is closed. he has contributed lot in this forum and very annoyed that all his articles/blogs are destroyed.. any chance to get it reopen and get the all data back? if yes please suggest.. we are people who help in most of forums like code project and sometime challenging each other go into different direction.. i feel code project should give one warning before deleting full record which people take years an years to do. please suggest if any request can help my friend.

Abusive/trolling can also mean "publication of plagiarized material".

where can we request on which mail id to re activate account, so that he understand the plagiarize material and not to repeat the same.

First thing would be to state which account you are talking about.
But you should be aware that admins have tried to give second chances to plagiarists in the past, and that did not prevent most of them to do it again. It is a fact that those who try to present others' work as their own seldom change their ways. So nowadays it is rather uncommon that closed accounts for plagiarism are reopened.

What was his user ID? Without that we can't check why it was closed.

how to get the user id once account is closed? but i can help you to identify in your database by checking the article closed by you today,
Plagiarised would be article ("Azure Monitor using custom template").
we understand the plagiarism seriously and this was a mistake unknowingly happened, we are just trying to help more and more people using this community not to hurt anyone. can you please help here Mr OriginalGriff and Phil o.
we do not want to lose all data and want to take further by helping this community.

That was "Ashutosh Gpt"
And he was closed for serial plagiarism.
His articles have been under suspicion for a while, but the latest one was blatantly stolen from MS.
His account is gone, and will not be returned - we really, really don't like plagiarists here - and he knew exactly what he was doing, that was obvious from the content. If you don't want to lose your account, don't steal others work and claim it as your own: all moderators write articles, so we know how hard it can be to produce good quality original material and we don't appreciate people "taking a short cut".

we really understand mr OriginalGriff, this is mistake happened unknwongly. i would like to explain the in detail.
if you have close look on this article has two parts, first part was concept which was referred from Microsoft doc and second part was implementation.. we thought writing just implementation will not sufficient for readers hence had to refer Microsoft doc. i truly agree with plagiarism and rules of code project. we event wanted to add references as Microsoft doc at the end but was not fully sure to do that.
this is lesson learnt for us and wrote a the same thing in mail to webmaster. give us one chance to rectify and continue to help this community. that is what our passion. we joined this community to help other by answering, writing article(but not cost of copying other data).. we try to write our story with reference of few book and forum and tey with 99% unique data.
please consider our request this time and give one chance to show case by re activating
thank you.

I think it is a new account, and the same person is posting on behalf of their "room mate".
As explained by OG and others, plagiarists get multiple warnings before an account is closed.
If that could not serve as a lesson, nothing else will.
