I've just checked - the message has disappeared, but my points have not been modified (at least - nothing appears in the reputation events log).
The thread is in the C# forum, 'Threads vs. Tasks Article', started on 18-Feb-2015 at 7:03. I deleted my message a few minutes before the start of this thread.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

Add a way for CP members to endorse each other in terms of skill-set/ability. Weighted reputation points would be earned for each endorsement (like article voting is weighted by reputation of voter). Allow the voter to leave a short comment regarding his/her vote. Other users should be able see who you endorse, and who endorses you. It might be useful to see the date of the endorsement as well.

Do you want to be my CP-friend ?

I can't see this one, John. I think the reputation system now reflects "endorsement" of the only meaningful kind we can possibly do given the fact that for most of use face-to-face verified knowledge of other people's skill-sets, outside the technical, is limited to the few members, on average, that most members know "personally."
I might be able to have a fairly objective view of someone's depth, and knowledge, and achievements, in writing code, but how could I know how that might "map" to other aspects of their character, behavior, ability to work in a team, etc., etc.
Yes, I think the rep-system here is flawed, and can-be- and is- gamed, by some, but, so is every other rep system anywhere in the netiverse
But, yeah I would hire you to organize getting my Mustang hot-rodded, if I had one.
cheers, Bill
«I'm asked why doesn't C# implement feature X all the time. The answer's always the same: because no one ever designed, specified, implemented, tested, documented, shipped that feature. All six of those things are necessary to make a feature happen. They all cost huge amounts of time, effort and money.» Eric Lippert, Microsoft, 2009

It was just an idea to get more people involved with the site.

Well, Linked-In allows my not-so-sane sister to endorse me for skills which she can't possibly be aware of. She's nowhere close to being knowledgable about what I do.

Actually it was a platinum member who kicked you. The same platinum member who has done this a number of times.
I'll make a change that will remove his ability to report. It's happened too many times.

Seems most unfair. He may be a bit controversial from time to time, but certainly not a spammer, troll or abuser. IMHO.

Have to agree.
He got a little shouty last night, but I didn't see anything more offensive than capital letters.
My vote: reinstate.

As the one he got rudely shouty with, I was a little peeved by his "over-effusive" reply, but it certainly didn't merit banning -- and the only person who really has room to complain about that message is me.

Precisely.
I can see someone getting peeved with your message his was a response to - there are some ... um ... delicate souls ... here who can get "over enthusiastic" when they see even censored swearwords - but his was just shouty.
I see no reason for banning either. It's possible it's a vendetta thing: we know he got banned before.

Given that the problem with the thread is that no-one could tell what the Hell he was talking about, he did take it in a direction that few would have ("you have the right to remain silent", indeed).
I vote he's reinstated because I still don't know what, why, who, or even whether he was celebrating (telling people to change the language of a third-party site explains none of that).

I have a feeling there was liquid happiness involved.
It would explain a lot.

It looks kinda wobbly.

Indeed you are, but you're not coming through as thinskinned to me.

Anyone can say absolutely anything to/about me in fun, but I reserve the right to not accept maliciousness (that's kinda one of the things that being English is about).
I don't think he was being soberly malicious; it read more like he was drunk and bombastic (annoyance level +1), he somewhat strongly implied that everyone was idiotic for not getting his opinion by looking at a wiki page (annoyance level +2), and he would not say what he was talking about (annoyance level +2).
So yeah, "a little peeved" describes it well enough.

I've just learned that some of his 'controversial' post, may be because of using Google Translate to communicate with us...
But even not - he is not spammer or abusive...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.
