Absolutely. But my gut instinct says that when it's Google, it may be worth a look.
The thing is, of course, I am here to witness that Chris has made it possible for the OP to set up a private forum focusing on Go. In Maunder's mansion, there are many houses.

would you like to program something in a language that is going to be in beta for a couple of years?

Nawww, if we're talking pieces of Google, why don't you just sign over all that stock you bought at the IPO
By the way, I'll bet $5.00 to your favorite charity that Chrome ends up replacing FF as the #2 browser. But not for at least 2 years.

I have my doubts; if Go catches on and they provide the best implementation before MS launches its own Go dialect, yes maybe.

Go.Net? Go# ? or Go2 (After all, They haven't had a GoTo language in six years.)

Nope. it is bound to be called G#, as they'll never admit Go is any good. See how they treated Java.

But Java is no good. It's interpreted, like VB6

That is completely wrong. Most often Java gets compiled to "bytecode" which is very similar to "MSIL" or "IL"; also the Java language resembles C# a lot. Java uses a Virtual Machine, akin to the .NET one, the main difference being it was tailored for a single language. Basically MS "borrowed" all the good ideas from Java when designing .NET and C#, and added some. I think you knew all that already...
FYI: even VB6 gets compiled, its compiler/linker emits real EXE files.

I knew that, too. I used to write PDS7.1 files that compiled to real EXE files, too.

I just copied a post message URL from one browser to a second (where I wasn't logged in); got an access denied message; and when I tried to log in the loss of work messagebox was displayed.

I can't seem to replicate your problem. This procedure might help the CP staff reproduce your issue:
- Edit your original message above that demonstrates the issue. Copy the text from the message.
- Create a reply message.
- In the reply message, ensure the "Encode HTML tags when pasting" checkbox is checked (this checkbox is just below the textbox you type into).
- Paste the message that you previously copied.
- Finish posting the reply message.
This should show the exact characters you used when you posted your message so that it can then be copied and pasted into a new message for testing. As an example, I will do exactly the above procedure with this message so you can see what I'm talking about.

Hmm, the problem seems to be with your use of "txt" and that you use it without quotes. Try this:
<pre lang=txt>
1
</pre>
<pre lang=txt>
2
</pre>
<pre lang=txt>
3
</pre>
Then try this:
<pre lang="text">
1
</pre>
<pre lang="text">
2
</pre>
<pre lang="text">
3
</pre>
I was able to reproduce your problem when I copied your text from above, but the problem was fixed when I replaced every "txt" with "text" and put quotes around them.

One thing wrong, one bug, and one way to fix it:
<pre lang=txt>
Total Debt / population
-----------------------
Total GDP / population
</pre>
Should be
<pre lang="text">
Total Debt / population
-----------------------
Total GDP / population
</pre>
Use "text" instead of "txt" to be more correct (though it won't actually make any difference since neither will cause colourising, and wrap the "text" in quotes.
This last is a bug (it should work without quotes) and we'll get it fixed.

I have Email format set as Text. In this format, CP will not send any hyperlinks posted in the message.

When someone sends an email using the "Email" link, any hyperlinks in the email won't be delivered as a clickable link. I presume that this would happen if someone has set their option to receive emails in text format.
