Hi Chris (and Co),
When I click on a Zip link, and choose "Open", I get a blank Zip file?
As pointed out by Luc Pattyn: it seems like an empty ZIP if you try to open it inside Internet Explorer; but when you save it in IE, then open it, everything is fine??
Before the CodeProject rework, it worked fine; Is there a reason for this (that you know of - besides it being an MS product )
Assuming this is just a hickup, is it something that will be fix in the near future (or is it possibly a problem with WinZip/M$)?

I am using IE 6 SP2, no add-ins. Has anyone else reported this? I had someone else tell me the same thing, but I do not know which browser he is using.

What if you right-click the link and select Save Target As...

If I save it to disk, everything is there as normal. It only happens if I try to view the content of the ZIP when I click on the link (the "Open" button).

And one more thing when you use of search when you click on that link you will be go to first page of that page and when you click on the 2 Number you will be go to correct page!!

Regarding to the Date Filter of forums, it can be configured as "Last Day", but fail to be "Last Visit".
2008-01-07 07:48pm > I mean when I choose "Last Visit" and "Set Options" (originally "All" or "Last Month" for example), it jumps back to "Last Day".

My layout defaults to Expand Root Messages. I hate this; it makes the current and next thread hard to distinguish. I can't seem to change the Layout back to Normal.

Hi Chris. Thanks for looking into this.
The standard entry is true.
A couple of things I have noticed which may or may not be relevant...
1. I have tried this with three operating systems. I get Expand Root Message with Vista and XP Professional, but not with XP Home. Standard comes up true in all three cases (and I am using IE7 in all 3 cases).
2. When the layout is Expand Root Message, sometimes the last message in the thread is not viewable --- it is listed but you cannot click on it to see what it says. In such cases, refreshing the page makes the last message viewable.

I just installed the latest updates for XP Home (I have a dual boot system and hadn't booted into it in several weeks). Now XP Home is behaving the same as the other two. Looks like the issue has to do with a recent Windows update.

When clicking the "add bookmark" button on an article, it gets reloaded with a slightly
different URL
example[^]
this has some consequences:
1.
one has to click the browser's BACK button twice to go to whatever was the previous
page; the first of these clicks probably causes a third load of the article (poor hamsters).
2.
if one wants to bookmark inside the browser too (say Add to Favorites in IE), then
the longer URL may be stored, which is not really what was wanted. The longer URL
works, but it is just too long.

I thought we were only allowed one vote per message? I just voted twice for the same message, with no way to "undo" a vote. (I thought I saw that feature during the beta.)

Hi Scott,
I think this actually is a new feature; I just voted your message three times, first 5,
then 1, now 3. It currently shows 3 with 1 vote.
There has been a request to be able to modify one's own vote (in case an article does not
sound as good on a second read as it did originally), and maybe Chris & Co found a way
to implement exactly that.
