I think it may be in your settings. Go to Your Settings[^] and check the options in the "Forums and QA" and "Email" tabs.
Mine are:
1. Forums and QA:

2. Email

If that still doesn't change things then try a direct email to the admins.

I don't want email notifications.
I am specifically asking if the site can notify me when someone responds to QA discussions up there in the notification area.

We didn't actually provide email alerts for comments. This has been added and will be released tomorrow

I think you read the whole thread assiduously because, by the end of it, it's easy to forget that the request was not for an email, but for the little red box to show up with a number in it. That little red box to the left of your rep points and user name at the upper right.

Well, that little red box comes for free once I wire up the email notification
(They have both been implemented)

I have been receiving emails for QA comments to my Solutions, and replies to my comments, for years. What am I missing?
|
|
|
|
|
Are you now getting duplicates?

@Randor posted a couple of comments in Solution 3 to this question[^]. Each of them resulted in me getting 2 emails (quoted below). I also got 2 red box notifications for each post. I then posted a comment telling him what had happened, after which I received one email (also quoted below) and one notification for my own comment.
email 1: Randor has posted a comment on "How can bubble sort algorithm be implemented in C?":
Test (notification).
Do not hit 'reply' to this email. To reply, post a comment here.
email 2: Randor has posted a comment to the Answer "How can bubble sort algorithm be implemented in C?":
Test (notification).
email 3: Randor has posted a comment on "How can bubble sort algorithm be implemented in C?":
Test 2
Do not hit 'reply' to this email. To reply, post a comment here.
email 4: Randor has posted a reply to a comment on "How can bubble sort algorithm be implemented in C?":
Test 2
email 5: Greg Utas has posted a comment on "How can bubble sort algorithm be implemented in C?":
Each of your comments resulted in me getting 2 emails and 2 little red box notifications.
Do not hit 'reply' to this email. To reply, post a comment here. And then two more emails and notifications when he told me that you'd asked about this.
|
|
|
|
|
And the notifications (red bubble up top): are you seeing 1 or 2 notifications for each comment?
(and thank you. I'll be in my office banging my head against a wall)
cheers

Was seeing 2 but now seeing 1.
EDIT: 2 notifications (red bubble) for k5054's response to my latest comment, one titled "CodeProject A comment has been added", and another one titled "A reply has been posted to a comment". Also emails with the same titles. Only one email and notification for Solution 2.

I'm getting duplicate notifications.
I'm also getting email notifications when I post a reply to a comment on one of my own answers.

Fixed. This one had a few tentacles wriggling throughout the code. Thanks the report.

If I click on my username, I see the "Sign out from other places" button. So I click on it and log back in, only to see it again. This happens even if I close my browser in between.
EDIT: No longer there today.

A change in points for file download in articles ?
I was used to get 1 point per download.
Suddenly, download reputation point is weighted ?

I also noticed a weighted download recently, but I have no idea how long it's been that way.

I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but there appears to be a bug in membership length. According to the site's reputation tab, when viewing one's own stats, I've been a member since 2003. I know that this is wrong.

subject says it all, too (sorry... it was too tempting)
On a more serious side... I am not aware on any methode within CP to block people. You can deactivate the notices or do something in your email client if you don't want to deactivate the messages about replies and so on.
The best (only?) way is, you ignore that user and don't even read what he/she writes.

Then it should be a suggestion to moderators to make CP better.

I see your point and I would have used it one or two times if it were available.
But I am not sure how difficult will it be, how will affect the layout of the forums and if it is worth the efforts.
The site is already over 20 years there and not a real necessity until now.
