Outlook 2010 Configuration problem

I am not able to open Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 on my machine. When i am trying to create or opening outlook getting the below error message.

The action cannot be completed.The connection to Microsoft Exchange is Unavailable.Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.

How could i resolve it?

i gone through the Microsoft Support site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2006508

but i couldnt find exact solution....Can any body help me out?

The connection to Microsoft Exchange is Unavailable

Check your Microsoft Exchange Server are you able to ping it or not....

Might be issue is because of security or port opening or firewall...

I'm no expert but that message seems to be saying that you have a loss of network connection to your Exchange server.
