My friends, is it possible to change/convert dial-up network connection to a LAN Network connection in vb.net?

I have once saw a software that perform that operation. For you to understand what i'm saying, you can download the software at your-freedom website. Also download openvpn in the same website above. Now install the two software and open your-freedom client and set it up. Now click on the third or forth tab and check the checkbox (openvpn)
now connect your pc to the internet using a dial-up modem and click start connection on this software.

The door logo will open and it will authomatically change your dial-up connection to LAN. The connection icon on the system tray will now become two i.e one for your dial-up and the other for the LAN.

Now is this possible in vb.net?

VPN connections in windows are shown with the two computers icon in the system tray, they are not LAN connections.

LAN and dialup implement the same protocol stack so they are fundamentally the same thing, the only difference is their speed in data transfer.

If you are looking to increase the speed then don't as the underlying bottle neck is the connection type itself.

Thanks for your reply. The two computer icons you are talking about is that of the dialup that represents sent bytes and received bytes (if i am right). Now what i am trying to say is that when you start the software i mentioned above, it behaves as if you just plugged a LAN cable to your pc and it will indicate on the system tray. If you place your mouse pointer on the first icon(two computer icon), you'll see "Connected 460kbps and the name of your dialup" and when you place your mouse pointer on the second icon(two computer icon), you'll see "Connected Local Area Connection4 10.0MPS"
