Exactly what I am thinking...
Really people, would you treat a plugged in power saw with this level of respect? No?
I get really careful around anything sharp and moving fast. A firearm is nothing more than a tool. Other than being an idiot, let's see what else he did wrong:
a) Pointed it at something he did not intend to shoot 
b) had his finger on the trigger
c) didn't even check to see if it was loaded

I killed some brain cells last night and finally caught SHARKNADO! It was so bad, my wife was laughing. The part that made me cringe was the sexy chick with the pump shotgun... waving it around, finger on the trigger, scanning past the other people. I know it's a movie and a silly one at that, but....

I haven't seen the movie, but I think the chick as Tara Ried, an ex porn star. She should stick to blowjobs and anal fisting. 
Did you see the another crap-tastic "original" movie that was on scifi this weekend? Sharktopus vs Pteracuda - I'm surprised SciFi still as any viewers.

Okay, I guess I never would have known that  . The best part is when the hero happens to be eaten by the shark that ate her. After this movie, I didn't have the stomach for the next one - Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda....
It's okay to have a couple of these shows, but when your material is so weak that this is a hit, that's a warning sign. Got to go club another developer here. Not allows to bring in devices that go bang bang, but they didn't say anything about a two by four.

So, do you get lumped with all the extra work, are you avoiding work, are you just doing your job and doing it well.
I must admit that I apparently intimidate people, and find it an excellent way of avoiding extra work as the article says.
But I find the best way to free up time whilst at the office is just to be very, very good at your job. If you can do everything quicker than everyone else and then don't shout about it no-one will give you extra work because they don't realise that you are free, and no-one gets worried by your lack of productivity because it is just as high as everyone else.
Indeed I would say that those struggling under more work look less efficient and less competent than those successfully completing less.
And as the article says, there is rarely any increased reward for an increased workload.
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

I always found that if you are good at what you do and don't complain you get piled with more and more work because they know you are good and won't complain. I didn't get mad but when I felt I was getting overloaded I just told them to give it to someone else or prioritize the work they had given me. Simple!

It's good advice for public sectors workers. The reward for those in the private sector is that they may still have jobs to go to.

office machines are updating from window xp to window 7 with i3 processor 3.40 Ghz speed, 8GB ram , 1 TB HDD, 24' monitor, internet speed also increase from 2Mbps to 3 Mbps.

Are you sure you are getting one of them? 
One has to beg to get one's machine upgraded here and then they will do it in a way like they are throwing a bone to you.

In a small business you can more or less buy your computer yourself, set it up how you like and nobody cares
