So, do you get lumped with all the extra work, are you avoiding work, are you just doing your job and doing it well.

I must admit that I apparently intimidate people, and find it an excellent way of avoiding extra work as the article says.

But I find the best way to free up time whilst at the office is just to be very, very good at your job. If you can do everything quicker than everyone else and then don't shout about it no-one will give you extra work because they don't realise that you are free, and no-one gets worried by your lack of productivity because it is just as high as everyone else.

Indeed I would say that those struggling under more work look less efficient and less competent than those successfully completing less.

And as the article says, there is rarely any increased reward for an increased workload.
