Thanks for the reply.
Thats seems to be suitable solution, but my main concerns are:
1. will it be a problem if a method is accessed simultaneously from more than one place.
2. i somehow need object specific values to identify and differentiate different objects. If i put them in a global variable, then all the methods accessing this would certainly overwrite the existing value. Is there no way that i use AJAX and still retain the OO program ?

Make a callback function for each object, that uses the instance of the object to call the method in it.
Or make a general callback function that somehow identifies what object the callback belongs to, and calls a method of that object.

I want to deploy my web service on the internet. The problem I am facing is that my code references a dll (MySql.Data.dll).
When I am using the code on local host it seems to run fine, but on uploading to the server, the code cannot locate the dll.
I have tried putting the dll in the same as well as 'Bin' directory. Do I need to add something to the web.config file??

Hi the answer is use
the propety of ie wiz page.scrollX(),page.scrollY()
so in the above code add

the code works .
I was not able to find the solution intially thats why I posted the thread.

The you need to run an ActiveX component in the browser.
Why not just disallow anonymous login and let the users log in using their domain account?

I need automatic login when the user opens the web page. And security group levels should be managed by the admins of the AD. What kind of active x componet should i use, and this should run client side?? or not?

 ASP.NET Dynamic Web Menu Control based on JavaScript

I think what you're trying to do is get your popup to circumvent a popup blocker....wouldn't be much of a blocker if you could do that now would it
AFAIK, popup blockers pre-process the page, and strip out most (if not all) of the javascript - esp anything that pops up a window, then renders the page. If you elect to allow popups, it re-renders with the missing bits et voila (that's why it posts back when you allow them).
You'll just have to tell people to unblock your site

I heard there is no IIS in home edition, is it true? how about the professional and NT version? how do i active the IIS function?

It is true. IIS comes with XP Pro and Windows 2000 but is installed optionaly. It comes by default with all server editions of Windows... I am not sure if it comes with NT Workstation (I dont remember)!

In pro, go to add remove programs in the control panel and then click on the windows components, choose to install IIS there.
