Can we replace it with something that will help me sleep better?

I could add a "paste items from Shog's worklog" button. That oughta bring The Sandman a-runnin'...

Actually I think it's my own worklog that sent him fleeing.
I think I just need about 2 hours grilling some food over the barbecue to get things right again. Those black and blue burgers are calling my name. I think I'll have to eat about 4 of them and then I know I'll sleep better.

Mmm... You could stop over and have some spaghetti with us. Rich, thick tangy-garlic-y sauce atop a big pile of starchy pasta; Relaxation-ona-plate.

I've never been in favor of keeping it.

Somehow, i figured that.

What gave it away? My initial push to get Midas into CPhog, the constant questioning of why that option still exists, or the fact that I subconsciously crippled it by ripping out code that preserved formatting when switching to the plain text option?

Ah, did you notice i put that back? Is it still broken on your bleeding-edge nightlies? I actually don't care about the Plain Text aspect so much as the "no linebreaks in quotes" aspect.

Heh. I haven't updated my working copy in a while. It's a mess of half-broken features I just haven't had time to work on now that we're nearing the end of the quarter.

I assigned you a ticket.

Can I change the fonts that firefox uses to the same fonts that IE uses? The firefox fonts seem weak and trapsy. I like a nice thick full-bodied font to go with my browser.

Is this a CPhog question?
You realize that you've bumped the "David, you rock" thread out of the forum watch box now. I have less incentive to check this forum now that it's gone.

I have no idea if it is or not. I figured if it was possible you would know...

Yeah... strange the FF fonts are set the same as IE but they just look all thin and whispy by comparison...

Are you using IE7? Do you have "Cleartype" enabled system-wide?

Yes.

IE7 forces Cleartype on for the app, even if you don't have it enabled system-wide.
Control Panel -> Display -> Effects -> Use the follow... smooth screen... -> Cleartype!

Oh! Wow! Hey that worked!
My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered process, husband to a murdered thread. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next. - Gladiator

When you use the random signature option and resubmit something after a submit delay, it sometimes often gets added as another post. Is there a way to identify a post without using the signature?
"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him, the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable an ignorable war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder." - Albert Einstein

I think you'd have to ask Chris, as that's a decision made on the server...

As Joergen said, the dup detection is done server-side, so there's not a lot i can do...
...But, i can avoid rotating the signature once a post's been submitted. Which ought to allow the dup detection to work properly, provided you don't actually edit the post.
IMHO, the proper way to do this would be to associate a GUID with each new post, thereby turning duplicate submissions into a single submission followed by one or more modifications. This would also have the advantage of making it much, much easier for the client to determine whether the post had actually been posted; the sad fact is, right now i can often submit a post, wait a while, then refresh the thread and see the new post added - all before the original request completes. I've been toying with ways to do this all client-side, but i really don't think it's possible. Frustrating.
