Simple, actually. Pigs are reasonably similar to humans physiologically-speaking. Apart from giving us the bacon, they're subjected to all kinds of test on our behalf. There's been a number of efforts over the past few years to introduce genes from other glow-in-the-dark animals to pigs, I actually thought it was a repost of an years-old news item, until I realized the whole animal had been affected, rather than just the snout and feet(perhaps ears, I forget). After I read the similarities that we have and why testing on pigs made sense, it stopped sounding perverse and moved over into the odd category for me.
Or, as the article says: "The ultimate goal of the research is to introduce beneficial genes into larger animals to create less costly and more efficient medicines."
OT: Hope the BBB turns out to be as much fun as it sounds, sorry to hear about the wait.

Electronic Toolbox[^]. Good God is this program awesome! Anyone with an iPad with iOS 5.0 or later OR Windows 8[.1] who likes to work with electronics (including Arduino and Raspberry Pi) should take a look at it.

I find it quite easy to use. I am really just starting to get into electronics, and I think this application will really be useful. Now I need to find a components database.

Looks really neat, but why a Windows Store app? I don't even mind buying it, but I don't have W8. I guess it uses W8 features?

My wife's laptop is a touch-enabled Windows 8 machine. I have yet to see any Win8-specific functionality that's a 'must have' or even a 'that's cool'. Most of it is a resounding 'meh'.

(While it says use the < and > keys the navigate the pages, this does not mean literally the less-than and greater-than keys. I had to use the cursor left/right keys. Ironic, for somebody who's put together a clean and interesting website, to screw up so badly on the simplest of instructions.)

The cursor keys don't seem to work in Chrome 31.0.1650.63 m. 
They do now.

They are only human after all.
It actually works correctly, as advertised, on Chrome.
You wouldn't be using IE would you?
