Depending on the poison, possibly yes. In addition to being absorbed through the pores (stomata) in the leaves, all insecticides commonly used have a half-life; once several half-life periods have passed, they are nearly undetectable. Applied properly, this can allow treatment to be effective during the night, with no measurable trace of the toxin remaining on the leaf surface in the morning. Are they likely to select an appropriate pesticide with a short enough half-life, then apply it in the correct concentration? Probably not, but that's a separate question. Poke tongue | ;-P

As a side note, whenever I hire a bug sprayer for the house, I ask him "What's the half-life of that stuff you're spraying?" If he doesn't know the answer, he doesn't come back. Ever.
