Ascii 0x1F is very tricky in Windows Form Application. Try the following:
a.) Place a TextBox on the form
b.) Start the Application and type in e.g. “AACtrl&_BB”. Depending on the keyboard maybe “AACtrl&Shift&_” is necessary.
After this you will see only “AABB” in the textbox!In reality the text contains "AA¬BB"
c.) Select all the text and copy it to clipboard (Ctrl&C)
d.) Paste it in a word document and set word to show also the hidden characters. Now one can see the hidden beast
Crazy++:
Also debugger does show you only “AABB”. But if you have a look to textbox.Text.Length you will see the string has 5 characters.
Is this a well-known behavior and I’m the only who did not know it until now?
Bruno
Sorry now I see it, it should go under discussions.
Sorry about that

Well...0x1F (US or Unit Seperator) is a "non-prinatable character": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicode_control_characters[^] so I wouldn't expect it to be displayed as anything, not even the "box" character which indicates "not in this set".
If you look at Charmap.exe, you will see it starts the display at 0x21 - '!' the character after space (which is the first printable character)
But, CR displays as a "box" - but that may be a special case in textboxes to indicate an error.
