I seem to have hit a brick will in trying to come up with an idea for an example app. The app will form the basis of several articles and blog posts, and I want to try and make my examples as practical and real world as possible. Any ideas for the basis of this app or series?

My current focus is MVC 5 and related, but the implementation shouldn't weight too heavily on the core business of the app.

I want an app that can reply to my wife's endless texts throughout the day without her realising that it is not me who is responding, and then a short while before I leave work it should give me a summary of anything it has agreed for me to do before I get home.
Version 2 should be able to record my phone conversations with her with a view to taking them over too.
I love my wife very much, but she is off work on long term sick and she does get very bored.

I suffer the exact opposite. I'll be busy* and Mrs Wife will call with a long list of to-do's and then be gone before I've even had a chance to record them

Or push the homework questions on to a network of devs willing to do homework for money. I'll found said network, having little sympathy for those who think money can buy knowledge. My like of money is much greater than my sympathy there.
