There are many ways that you can solve that and still keep your interface clean - what you are describing are settings, and they could have different types, but the interface would be the same. You might want to implement this, for example, using settings strategies, or you could have a base ISettings interface which the ILog exposes and each type of setting could implement this - and you would get the relevant settings created as part of your factory. It's really up to you how you want to do this, but coding to interfaces should be your starting point - especially as you can use this to mock out tests very easily.
