How do I get a silverlight combobox's list selected item - as opposed to the actual selected item that appears on top.

While the combobox is open, you can use arrows to change the highlighted item. The item does not atually become selected (and accessible with SelectedItem), until you click on the item or press Enter.

I want to get that item without actually closing the combobox and confirming the selection.

Couldn't find any relevant property.

Any ideas?
