Solution 2

You need to chareg as per the quantity user add in his chart..

so you have to define a charge for one quantity, then when user select multiple items at that time you need to multiply that charge with number of items user select....

you can also put some extra functionality like this..

if items will be in 1 to 5 then some different charge
or 6 to 10 or as this you put charges in group also...

remember 1 thing shipping charges is calculated using UPS plug in..
