Well this is not a pure technical question but it is related to many technical persons.

Recently someone asked me about future scope of SharePoint developer. As i had no idea about this so I have goggled a bit and came to conclusion
that there will be better opportunities for SharePoint developers in near future.
As it is not my field so I am not 100 % sure if this is the right career move and if SharePoint is a valuable skill to add to in resume.

As no human can predict the future … but you can make a bet or an informed decision based on the past!
So my question is that

"Is it a right carrier move to switch to SharePoint technology"?

if you read on the internet that it is right...what stops you then?

I recently have worked in a couple of project that run under sp where taken out of sp and back in to .net applications.

What is the effect of SP for developing websites? Why should it make developers happy? What kind of work a developer doesnot have to do anymore when sp is involved?
