i am making a windows application in visual studio 2010 i am programming on a windows 7 and it work fine but when i try on a windows xp it don't... i hav installed .net4 on the xp and i worked befor but when i updatet the program it stooped working.
i can run the program from the bin\debug folder but when i install the program whit a setup file i can't

it run but don't open i know it run becouse i put in a try catch and the catch shows a messege box.
but nothing else comes up.

Please specify any error message you are getting when running the program on Windows XP.

Considering we know nothing about your application, nor what it is supposed to do, what you expect it to do, what it's trying to do when it fails, nor any error messages, there's really nothing anyone can tell you to help.

1 solution

The first thing to check is your target: try building it for x86 specifically, and see if that helps.
If it doesn't, then you need to be a lot more specific about how it is failing: "it stopped working" is not very helpful! :laugh:

Do you get an error message? Does it run at all? And so forth...
