The truth is: you hardly can hope that a stranger can give you a good and fresh idea. You really need to generate it by yourself. However, there are good approaches to such generation, because the ideas literally flow in the air around you, really.

+5'd, its important to note that especially when working alone on a project you need to be enthusiastic about it for it to succeed. Its next to impossible for anyone who doesn't know you to pick a project for you without knowing what you are both interested in and proficient/knowledgeable in.

Thank you, Ron.

What you say is right and important, but one of my key ideas is actually discussing the ideas with fellow students or perhaps trying to help them: what do they miss on their computers but miss? It's very important to create and support the culture of exchanging problems and ideas.

Another idea is to search one's hobby. Everything may need organization, design, search capabilities, presentation, analysis, and a lot more. It could be music (theory, playing instruments, recording/processing, generation, experiments with sound and harmony), sports, collections, literature, photo, drawing, crafts, learning/teaching, and a lot more.

Well, it's important to start with some ideas. Filtering... well, then you need to apply some criteria to estimate feasibility, time for development, which is always pretty difficult. It's important, at first steps, to let ideas go freely, not criticizing them too early...
