url rewriting or mappin in asp.net 3.5

Sir I am new in asp.net so please
can anyone tell me the complete process of url rewriting in asp.net 3.5 without mvc project or other framework.

my url is as www.xxx.com/searchresult.aspx?catid=X or catid is coming from database which can be anything in numbers. So I want to url rewrite as like www.xxx.com/searchresult/name of catid like

www.xxx.com/searchresult/computers
www.xxx.com/searchresult/hardware
etc...

name of catid may be anything according to my catid

so please tell me with a brief example in asp.net 3.5 connecting with sqldatabase...
