Save TreeView to Database

I am new at doing this, so please help.

I have a data base with 3 colm.

id parentid desc
1 null AAA
2 null BBB
3 2 CCC
4 1 DDD

I think you get the idea. I am able to load the tree, need help with adding, deleting and saving it back to the database.Best thing will be a
coding example so I can learn looking at it.
