GoDaddy recently updated my site from IIS6 to IIS7. I modified the connection string like the example provided by GoDaddy. But I still can't connect to the database. I use shared hosting. Any guidance, please?

Ask godaddy what it should be, how are we supposed to know?

You need to ask your hosting provider about this issue. Please find their knowledgebase or documentation.

Try to change database user's passwords by going to the Users tab and use the new one.

Talk to GoDaddy technical support. They made the changes, they will have meet this problem many times since they did.

They will also have access to your account details, including the SQL Server instance you will be using - so they can check your login details and so fourth, which we can't.

Thank you all for responding. But, you probably have never dealt with GoDaddy. They are no help at all. They provide hosting service only. They have no interest in helping me fix the problem. It all has to do with migration from IIS6 to IIS7, which they did, not at my request. So I will keep hammering away with trial and error until I get it fixed. None of what I found on the web solves my problem.

I enlisted an expert who solved the problem. It was more than the connection string. And, there are probably thousands of GoDaddy users that are crying for help.

Bobby
