Due to the new HOW TO ANSWER QUESTIONS direction of CodeProject.com, led mike will no longer be providing assistance to developers on this site. My best wishes to most of the regular members of CP, it's been fun.

led mike has worked in the software industry for over 15 years. Over the course of those 15 years he has accumulated a lot of time. While amassing no outstanding achievements in his IT profession he has continually not been recognized for this. He has consistently made no notable contributions to the profession.

Most of his career has been spent using C++ and in the past 2 years started working with C#. He once touched Visual Basic with a ten foot pole.

He has a number of interests outside his software profession. None of which are any of your business.

He can be contacted at his email address, if you had it.

Toxcct is an electronics guy who felt in love with programming at the age of 10 when he discovered C to play with Texas-Instruments calculators.

Few years later, he discovered "The C++ Language" from Bjarne Stroustrup ; a true transformation in his life.

Now, toxcct is experiencing the Web by developing Siebel CRM Applications for a living. He also respects very much the Web Standards (YES, a HTML/CSS code MUST validate !), and plays around with HTML/CSS/Javascript/Ajax/PHP and such.

_____

After four years of services as a Codeproject MVP, toxcct is now taking some distance as he doesn't like how things are going on the forums. he particularly doesn't accept how some totally ignorant people got the MVP Reward by only being arrogant and insulting while replying on the technical forums.

Software developer par excellence, sometime artist, teacher, musician, husband, father and half-life 2 player (in no particular order either of preference or ability)
Started programming aged about 16 on a Commodore Pet.
Self-taught 6500 assembler - wrote Missile Command on the Pet (impressive, if I say so myself, on a text-only screen!)
Progressed to BBC Micro - wrote a number of prize-winning programs - including the best graphics application in one line of basic (it drew 6 multicoloured spheres viewed in perspective)
Trained with the MET Police as a COBOL programmer
Wrote platform game PooperPig which was top of the Ceefax Charts for a while in the UK
Did a number of software dev roles in COBOL
Progressed to Atari ST - learned 68000 assembler & write masked sprite engine.
Worked at Atari ST User magazine as Technical Editor - and was editor of Atari ST World for a while.
Moved on to IBM Mid range for work - working as team leader then project manager
Emigrated to Aus.
Learned RPG programming on the job (by having frequent coffee breaks with the wife!!)
Moved around a few RPG sites
Wrote for PC User magazine - was Shareware Magazine editor for a while.
Organised the first large-scale usage of the Internet in Australia through PC User magazine.
Moved from RPG to Delphi 1
Developed large applications in Delphi before moving on to VB .Net and C#
Became I.T. Manager - realised how boring paper pushing can be
And now I pretty much do .Net development in the daytime, while redeveloping PooperPig for the mobile market at night.

Despite all resistance, I'm a programmer. It started with endless hours of torture reading DATA statements to my father as he typed them into our TRS-80. ARRRGHHH!!
This moved to an actual interest once I learned how to code a little, then in college I said "there is no way I'm living my life in front of a stupid computer screen" so I quit.

Four years later, tired of managing a restaurant, and partying til 4-5 in the morning I sought more structure. And got a job programming. It serves me well and here I am.

Having been a commercial software developer for 17 years and a hobbyist for about 6 years before that, I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly of software development. My journey has taken me from BASIC to PASCAL to C to C++ and now to C#. I hate to reinvent the wheel and will always reuse other peoples' code where I can.

The coding side of the job has lost its interest for me and I much prefer to work on the business analysis and design side now. Although I still get a kick out of a little R+D and I have had a lot of fun playing with MyXaml over the last year. The greatest pleasure still comes from seeing the final product in use and how it helps my clients run their businesses better.

Along with being a professional geek, Christopher is a musician, director and author of The Career Programmer and Unite the Tribes.

His latest show is a comedy web series called Talking Head Games.

Any resemblance between his personal appearance and that of certain small, hairless canines is purely coincidental.
