Is it possible to send/receive sms by using GSM COMM libraries and the MODEM is CDMA (UC 190 wirless mode).

I think you didn't read the article properly.

Test your Modem against Hyper-terminal first. If its working, proceed with using third party libraries.

I think it should work.

I have tried Hyperterminal with a CDMA modem. The terminal did detect the modem virtual com port but a lot of strange characters keep appearing on the terminal screen non-stop when connected. I even can't key in any AT command in the terminal as well. My modem model is D-Link DWM-652. Thank you.

May be you have entered wrong 'Bit per second' (COM properties) in new hyperterminal add process. your modem bit per second and ur assinged bit per second is not matching.
