Hello code project members,

I have completed my BE in year 2009
and was looking for a job change, got two different opportunities but unable to decide which will help me in future
Currently i am working on .net(c# and sql server) platform

job descriptions for the jobs offered are

1) EPM Tech Consultant (ENTERPRISE PROJECT MANAGEMENT)
SQL Server, SSRS, SharePoint and .NET (ASP, C#). Exposure to Microsoft Project will be an added advantage. Applicants must have good English language skills.

2) Software Developer to Technical Architect

.Net Framework
Design, Coding, Testing, Analysis, Flow Diagram, Team Mgt.,
Web Apps
Constructing Architecture, Various s/w design methodology, UI & DB Design
Design, Coding, Testing
Expert in OOP's Concept

Expertise in C#, ASP.Net, Visual C#.Net, Core AJAX, ADO.Net, JavaScript and SQL Server

SO this were the two different profiles offered to me by two different companies,
but confused which one to go for, as first one mentioned involves job profile of epm tech consultant, which basically involves creating reports, dash boards using BI(SQL SERVER)

and as second one mentions as a software engineer to work on .net i.e MVC and various other technologies

So need your advice, kindly help

1) What you posted aren't job descriptions but required qualifications of the applicant. So it doesn't say much about what YOU'll be hired to do, maybe abit about what the companies are using or developing for. Though the first one would seem to be in management and if you don't have any professional experience I highly doubt you'll be hired for that, doesn't hurt applying for it though.

2) Deciding which job to take should ultimately come down to what YOU wnat to work with and for whom you wanna work.

3) When you apply for a job doesn't mean you get it, doesn't even mean you'll get an interview. So I say apply for both if you need a job now, and if they both decides they want you you can choose based on want YOU want.

4) Experience with software development in general will help you futher career. If you have no profesional experience, don't be picky get anything you can get. Companies look more at your experience than at your education or certificates, well atleast those companies, who's recruitment process I know about, do.

Always apply for the job you're most qualified for.
