User unable to edit list in Datasheet view.

Hello Folks,

One of my user cannot edit list having 20,000 rows. User can edit other lists on that site. When other user logged in user machine. That user can edit that List. User has contributor access.

We are using SharePoint 2007 and User is trying to edit data in Datasheet view.

Pls advice as what is going wrong.

How many items are in the other list? Remember SharePoint 2007 limits the list view results to 2000 items.

Hi Mark,

In other list its < 2000. But, in this list its >20,000 items. But i suspect that earlier it was working fine with that user and suddently user gets issue while editing in data sheet. Pls. advise.

The application behavior doesn't just "suddenly" change. Don't "suspect" anything has changed. Verify, test. Don't guess.
