Your project is good. When I create executable file form its source code, it will be big size. But, your supplied executable file is enough small size.

Hi there, I tried running you application on 3 different computers haveing windows 2000 installed in it. It worked well under two of them but on third one, the main screen doesnt even show up.
I have checked the version of the TAPI Dlls on that system and its like:
tapi.dll 3.10.0.103
tapi3.dll 5.0.2195.2264
tapi32.dll 5.0.2182.1
tapiperf.dll 5.0.2143.1
tapisrv.dll 5.0.2195.2955
tapiui.dll 5.0.2158.1
So what could be the problem?
I have created another application with some of the TAPI functionality and i had removed the "AlexfPerf" part out of it. And now it did work well on that computer. So in short there is some problem in AlexfPerf.cpp file but unfortunately i couldnt figure it out.
Pls help me out.
Thanx,
Paras Shah

Performance counting should be completely rewritten for win2k. It is not suppose to work in current version. Personally I just don't have time for this right now.

Dont know exactly what the original code looked like .. but I changed it so it works now (at least on my machine)
Now one is at least able to see RAS-Entries and Dial.
This is how the changed function in Page1.cpp looks like:
BOOL CPage1::QueryConnections()
{
RASENTRYNAME* lpRasEntry;
DWORD cbBuf;
DWORD cEntry;
DWORD dwRet;
UINT ndx;
char szMessage[4096];
m_Providers.ResetContent();
sCurrentProvider = theApp.GetIniString(gchMain, "LastEntry", "");
cbBuf = sizeof(RASENTRYNAME);
lpRasEntry = (LPRASENTRYNAME) new char[cbBuf];
if (NULL == lpRasEntry) return FALSE;
//ZeroMemory(lpRasEntry, cbBuf);
lpRasEntry->dwSize = sizeof(RASENTRYNAME);
dwRet = RasEnumEntries(NULL, NULL, lpRasEntry, &cbBuf, &cEntry);
if (ERROR_BUFFER_TOO_SMALL == dwRet)
{
delete lpRasEntry;
lpRasEntry = NULL;
lpRasEntry = (LPRASENTRYNAME) new char[cbBuf];
if (NULL != lpRasEntry)
{
ZeroMemory(lpRasEntry, cbBuf);
lpRasEntry->dwSize = sizeof(RASENTRYNAME);
dwRet = RasEnumEntries(NULL, NULL, lpRasEntry, &cbBuf, &cEntry);
}
else
dwRet = ERROR_NOT_ENOUGH_MEMORY;
}

I face a lot of problem in writing a C++ programming about modem dialing. The program should be able to able to dial a phone number through modem by using phone dialer, and should be able to play a recorded wavefile through modem.
Mr to Mrs., is not possible to provide me all the modem script codes (AT something)like ATDT?
WHat is the correct procedures of setting up the UART registers in handshaking?

Fixed bug with multiple phone numbers.
Yes! BUT your source code downloaded is from nov.14.1999 !!! And it is totally full with bugs! It is not equal to the newest exe vesrion. Why don't put to here the true source version for downloading. In this form the downloaded source code unethically bamboozle!

1. If you can not use it, it does not mean it is unusable.
2. Latest version available at my homepage, which is mentioned in article.
3. Show me bugs-free software...

In my situation there is one 'server' (Win2000) and there are numerous 'clients' (Win95/98/ME/NT/2000). Both server and clients have modems, but no internet connection.
Now the question is very simple (even though haven't found a simple answer yet): how can I send a file from the server to a client using the modems? I've looked at RAS, TAPI and other complicated stuff , but surely there must be an EASY way to do this.
Looking at your app it's almost what I'd like to build. I just have to be able to write a service for the 'clients' to pick up the phone and then somehow send the file over the established connection... Any ideas?

Well, I've figured uit how to do it the 'easy' way and I've implemented it as well. It works pretty nicely. Here's what I did:
I took the MSComm ActiveX object and put it in my project. Looking at the functionality I wasn't happy yet, so I built my own wrapper around it.
Next I made connection via the modem by sending simple AT-commands throught the MSComm object to the COM ports like 'ATDT37' for calling the telephone number 37. I did have some problems using the ISDN modems, but found that using 'ATB20DT37' solved these problems...
Both my client and server application use the MSComm, topped off with a synchronous communication protocol I wrote myself. The system is now operational, sending thousands of files to about 20 clients throughout the country.
Thanks for your input, though!
